Week Ending 19th June 2009

This week we had sports day and we had 12 different activities. The yellow team won, although everybody in the school worked very hard in each event.

Some of the events included throwing into a net, hurdle jumping, skipping, basket ball shooting, javelin, relay and ladder jump.

Many parents came to see the sports afternoon, and Ms Jones and Mrs Stephenson managed to get Mums and Dads working behind the hoop shot. Some of them were very tired afterwards! Luckily, it did not rain.

This week we also went swimming, many children showed that they could swim 25m or a little more. Ms Jones got very wet across the field and luckily for the children they had towels to dry the rain off them afterwards.

We made Jam Tarts, the adults helped to make the pastry and Ms Jones had to use the ready mix as she ‘can’t cook, won’t cook’ Mrs Knight amazed us with her chioux pastry dipped in whipped cream and melted chocolate. Our Jam Tarts were all different shapes and we found that many of the designs did not work because we had tried to make them too complicated. The tasting was the best part. We still generally liked the bought ones best.

Thats all from us!

See you next week!

This week has been a busy week. We have been on a cricket visit to the Cleethorpes Cricket Club. Luckily it stayed dry and fairly sunny all afternoon!

On the visit we practiced our skills in Bowling, Batting and fielding. We learnt a number of drills to help us reherse these. At the end we played some games of quick cricket. The whole afternoon was really great fun!

We continued with our swimming this week, everbody gets so excited when Wednesday comes around. Some of the children are now starting to get really confident in the water, and the teachers are getting splashed alot less!

We tasted jam tarts this week, these were from Tesco, Sainsburies, Morrisons and Asda. They were all very different. Mr Myall ate loads!!

The school choir is in full swing for rehersals for the Junior Singing Festival. The children like the songs about the Aliens and the swamp. If you want to know more you should get tickets for the 29th or 30th June! The concert will be performed at the Auditorium.

The highlight of next week will be Sports Day. Everybody has to bring a coloured t-shirt that relates to their team.

Please leave us a message!
