Week ending 6th February 2009
During Literacy we have been looking at explanation texts, we have been looking at ‘ How Honey is Made’ and ‘How Rock Candy is Made’. We have really enjoyed matching, sorting pictures and organising text.
We worked together to create an explanation text that explained in great detail what the process of making rock candy actually is. Did you know that the letters are put in by hand?
In maths we have been adding decimals together, some of us found it really tricky. After alot of hard work and support we have all finally managed to master the skill.
Our sewing has been perfected and we are now finishing off our final designs. They range from minimal and chic to totally crazy. We cant wait to acually start making them now that the design process has come to an end.
We have been painting this week. Thank you to Kyran’s mum and Chloe’s mum for coming in and helping with the mess as well! We hope that you come back next week because everybody enjoyed working with you!
In ICT we have been making repeat patterns to create flowers, our Mums and Dads will remember playing with the ‘old fashioned’ version called Spirograph.
We have been discussing families in PHSCE, we found that everybody has a different type of family. Sometimes we all get along and sometimes we dont. We discussed that adults dont always get everything right either!
We have been working hard with our Trumpets. Ms Jones taught the trumpet session this week because our teacher could not get from York due to the snow. We learnt a brilliant RAP! Access it at www.singup.org its called the Grandma Rap!
Thats all for this week!
